I would try to plug one of the USB connectors into the Mede8er and the other into a Mains to USB adapter ( like the types supplied with iPhone's/ Tablets/ Samsung Phones etc and see if this helps. It is supplied with a USB 3.0 Y-cable so you are expected to plug both these into the Mede8er.
